Abstract
The problem of waste is always a frightening thing for everyone because of the negative impacts it causes. Apart from making the environment unhygienic, the quality of the environment also decreases because of the presence of this waste. Household waste is the remains of our daily activities at home such as plastic, paper, food waste, food packaging and other used items. This household waste is divided into three types, namely organic waste, inorganic waste and B3 waste. The aim of this research is to determine the role of the Environmental Service in managing household waste in Kaimana Regency. The research method used is a qualitative research method which produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from the 20 respondents who were sampled in this research. The sampling technique used was representative sampling, the data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique in this research was carried out in three stages, namely data clarification, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the Kaimana District Environmental Service is quite responsible in managing household waste. However, there is a weakness that researchers found in this research, namely that the Environmental Service has not managed household waste optimally. The reason that household waste management is not yet optimal is due to the lack of adequate facilities and infrastructure that must be available for the waste processing process at the Final Processing Site (TPA). Apart from that, there are several tools that cannot be used properly so that household waste such as organic waste, inorganic waste and B3 waste as well as other household waste cannot be managed optimally. Keywords: Role, Environment, Organic Waste, Inorganic Waste, B3 Waste
