Children are a mandate and blessing from God Almighty whose dignity and rights must be protected. As the future generation, children possess fundamental rights that are universally guaranteed through various international instruments and national regulations, including Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection. However, technological advancement, social changes, and moral degradation have contributed to the rising number of child abuse cases, including physical, psychological, sexual violence, and neglect. Data from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (Komnas Anak) in 2024 recorded 216,897 cases of child rights violations in Indonesia, 58% of which were sexual crimes, indicating that the country is in a state of emergency regarding violence against children. Child protection is a shared responsibility of parents, families, communities, and the state to ensure every child's right to live, grow, and develop optimally. Therefore, protection efforts must include prevention, intervention, rehabilitation, and empowerment to help child victims recover physically, mentally, and socially. Strengthening awareness and synergy among all stakeholders is essential to create a safe, decent, and violence-free environment for children Keywords: child protection, child abuse, state responsibility
